Distorted sound when I use midi

I have EXSP24 and I am getting distortion when I play a note on my keyboard. I have an old 
Casio CZ-1 running into a Digi 001 into my Mac with Logic Express. Audio works just fine 
it is only a problem when I use midi and the EXSP24.
