I noticed it with the files as well - I know that SAM made the mistake on early versions of substituting samples and not updating the .exs file. The parameter simply tells the EXS where in the sample file to start playing the data. It can cause a click by starting the data prior or after where it's supposed to. Garth Hjelte Sampler User
