With Logic 7 layering virtual instruments (or splitting signals to play multiple instances simultaneously) is just the same as layering external MIDI sound modules. So you could split by input device, MIDI channel (or simply select multiple AUs in the arrange) - whatever does the job for you - and connect the splitted cables/signals to individual EXS instances. - Sascha Hi Sascha! Thanks a lot for your reply - finally someone that knows what she's talking about! You could help me a great deal (if you have time) with an explaination of exactly how to do it... How do I set it up? I'm a complete newbie to the environment. If you have time to answer me I would go to a music shop and try it out with a printed version of your explanation! Audioinstrument1 (EXS24) plays when it receives midi from an external sequencer on channel 1. Audioinstrument2 (EXS24) plays when it receives midi from an external sequencer on channel 2. ..and so forth. At the same time off course. The easiest for me would be if every EXS instrument used its own track instead of setting up a multichannel audioinstrument, that also makes it possible to use mono channels as output which I normally do for live mixing. Thanks a lot
