EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

I'm new here, so at the risk of bringing up a subject that has been tackled already on this 
forum:

since Logic 7.0.1, opening and 'saving as ..' songs takes a whole lot more time than it used 
to. Cause I have to watch Logic loading every EXS audio instrument, one after another. In 
previous versions this was done in a split sec. Anyone a n idea of what happened?

My EXS- samples and  -instruments are located on the system-drive (the same drive that 
holds the applications), while I keep my Logic songs and -audio-files on a seperate 
(internal) drive. Is that what is causing this time-consuming file-traffic?
