Hi All, Well... I am glad that the article made you chuckle - or even made you think perhaps... whatever. I am just glad it caused a 'reaction'. My email inbox has been overwhelmed with similar reactions to the article since it was published (it's quite flattering actually)!! I apologise for using Logic as the example - it could have been any DAW... Pro-Tools, Cubase, Nuendo... whatever - I just happened to pick Logic in the interests of brevity for the title. Certainly no 'diss' intended to Logic users hereabouts! But the underlying fact remains.... Let's not use technology to polish formulaic turds that satisfy a record company or radio advertiser's demographic... let's use it to push the boundaries and create something that is unique and original however uncomfortable that might be! When I was a lad, the underlying momentum when forming a band was to 'be different'. However, nowadays, the focus seems to be on being 'me-too' - to get a commercial slice of what some other manufactured act has established in the market.... the 'bland leading the bland' so to speak! Hmmmm... I feel another SOS 'Sounding Off' article coming on ;-) But thanks for your positive comments to the article. Best regards, Steve http://www.hollowsun.com
