I do think it is different in the US, where Logic seems to be in the ascent. There is a legitimate question about the wisdom of attaching a program's fate to a single platform - and by extension, to a single geographical market - but, for better or for worse, Gerhard et al. have made their beds in Cupertino. I would think that, therefore, Logic would want to make sure that there were no reason OTHER than the cost of the computer to chose, say, Cubase over Logic. But there are many ways Cubase is superior - most obviously in Logic's deeply flawed folder structure - and, despite repeatedly being informed of these discrepancies, EMapple seems uninterested in addressing them, instead putting energy toward evolving into the "pro" version of Garage Band. At the time I switched from the then-dead Studio Vision, the question was "Logic or DP". I never even considered Cubase. If I were at the same divide now I would be saying "Logic vs. Cubase". I think I'd still chose Logic, but it wouldn't be a no-brainer. Best Wishes, Michael A. Levine www.MichaelLevineMusic.com
