A while ago, when I was on some "free soundfont hunting", I detected quite some soundfonts with their samples being named suspiciously familiar. Those large "monolithic" patches (as coming with GPO and quite a few other libraries) simply don't allow for easy patch conversion, so chances of things being re-distributed out of context are pretty much more unlikely. And while I do understand this from a sample developers point of view, it's just another example of copy protection getting in the way of the user. I expect quite fewer sample libraries to be released in EXS format in the future because of that as well. Which is a shame, as it's still the most efficient playback machine. - Sascha
