new to samplers. (soft and hard alike)

2005-10-11 by toddtacklebarhooth

I recently purchased apple's production suite and was told that
logic pro 7 was the new wave in digital audio workstation. I did
some research and every audio person I knew gave it rave reviews.
Only thing is, I am a relative newcomer to the audio field and don't
know the ins and outs of sampling and midi interfaces. I purchased
a usb midi keyboard that gives me realtime access to all of the
instrument plug-ins, but I don't know how to create my own sampler
instruments.
I am extremely inspired by music that incorporates any number
of samples. Especially highly experimental music. I would like to
match my "self recorded" audio(bad guitar, worse singing) to my self
recorded, self produced fx libraries. I have created many tones and
noises which i would love to incorporate into a sampler instrument
to be called upon in real time or in sequenced midi. How would I go
about this?
If too much of an explanation is needed, don't worry yourselves
and recommend another website/book that may help put it in a
somewhat
lay-man's perscpective.

thank you for at least reading this message and perhaps having a
little laugh at the new guy.
