I recently bought a bargain DVD of Gigastudio files on eBay, so cheap that I can happily discard any turkeys. I have an external USB 2.0 drive for sample storage, which is where I keep all the factory samples and my own stuff . I copied the *.gig files into a separate folder on this drive, with an alias in the Sampler Instruments folder on the main drive. There is no problem with EXS24 recognising most of the *.gig files and doing its conversion thing, but what it is doing with the folders of samples it creates is saving them in a folder called DLS-Giga Samples in the Logic folder in Application Support, while saving the Sampler Instruments in the source folder on the external drive. This wouldn't be a problem if I could actually access this folder to organise the samples, but though I can search for the individual samples and see the file path for them, no amount of tinkering with permissions will show the folder in the finder. I also can't access any new sampler instruments or folders I have created for them via the EXS24 save dialogue box. Is there something I have missed here? I'm pretty new to OS X, though I'm an old Logic hand. I'm running the latest Logic and the latest update to Tiger on a Mac Mini. I have searched for relevant posts here, but while there was something about a freeware app called batchmod, which I have tried, it didn't solve the problem.
