Hi, Shari.  I'm a teacher during my day job and am away from my home studio most of the 
year.  I use an iBook G4 and normally Presonus Firepod.  I work on my projects in my office 
during my free time and use the Presonus Inspire.  I do most of my work now on the Inspire 
until I need the extra channels, since multi-channel work is pretty taxing on my humble 
computer and time consuming (having to restart so many times).  I recommend either the 
Inspire or the Firebox.
