I have a mapped instrument and am trying to cable to 5 separate instances of the exs. Each instance is just two keys on the mapped instrument so I can have two kickdrums, two hihats, two snares etc but each drum type is cabled to an exs with an instrument made up of one drum type. I then hope to be able to audition heaps of different drum sounds for each drum type by transposing each instance eg swapping snare sounds. What are the drawbacks? I have heard that the first exs instance is blessed and the others will suffer latency making them useless for realtime playing (is this correct?). But I am going to use it for hyperediting drum patterns so it isn't realtime playing and should work. I have tryed cabling to 5 instances from my mapped instrument in the environment and have set the numbers to each cable in the mapped instrument window. The first instance plays but not the others. Am I correct in assuming that the cable numbers set in the mapped instrument window are just each successive cable that appears on the mapped instrument environment object when cabling to exs instances? Is the conclusion that you cannot actually cable to multiple exs instances? Please help!
