To view the start and stop points in the sample edit window, you have to change the numerical value in the zone edit window. This creates a "Logic" audio instance (you'll see the audio file listed in the audio window list), because you are adding trigger points to the data. They are not there by default which is why you don't see start and stop by default. Hope this makes sense...
