EXS-24 CANT CONVERT AKAI CD FORMAT!!

We tried to use the convert Akai format function and it failed every 
time crashing our G4. We set and used the MacOS preference for the 
Mac internal Cd drive. 
Convert Akai format works just fine using Unity DS so I dont believe 
it is a hardware problem.
Anyone have a solution or workaround?
