I think Rex files will be most useful as self-produced items in Logic 5. I know what's required to get them to work exactly as I wish. I wouldn't depend on many others to do that kind of work with as much attention to detail. It's a lot like online sound libraries. Many of the kits (and even raw groups of samples) have many, many milliseconds of dead air before the attack. Even in my EXS builds from downloaded kits, it's been a lot of work. Still, it's nothing compared to the days of building kits on my ASR-10. It took days to build a kit I can now do in about 20 minutes, even with the editing and normalization. It's like the saying goes, "If you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself!"
