I had the same problem. This is the only version CD that has the problem.
The only fix is to have Emagic send you another CD. The problem is well
known to Emagic so they should understand right away.

Sorry for making this OT, but I just purchased a new PC and before I
install
EXS24 and ES1 I want to have Logic at the latest version. On my other PC I
was running 4.5 with no problems. On my new PC (running WinME) I installed
Logic from my CD. When my install is finished, it's LAWP version 4.03 (I
purchased LAWP earlier this year). I downloaded the 4.03 -> 4.61 upgrade
from emagic and the upgrade fails. About 50% into it is says the logic.exe
cannot be upgraded. I cannot understand what is happening, because 4.03
loads just fine and I can use it without any issues. The dongle is on
serial 1 and is obviously being recognized. Has anyone seen this before?
Sorry for being a stick in the mud and posting to this list, but emagic's
phone lines are busy and the LUG list is crammed with thousands of users
posting for help.
