white 2001 ibook, with 320MB RAM, 500MHz cpu, 10GB hard disk.

it's an extension emagic recently released, it manages virtual memory 
for the exs24, you can have larger than ram instruments (their 
collection of samples, of course).

another thing to check is the conversion quality setting, most of the 
time you can get away with normal instead of the best setting, i only 
use the best setting when at the end of the project i bounce the 
instruments to audio tracks.
