EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

hi folks,

ive been plagued with freezes! whenever i tweak parameters on 
stylus my system goes down with a bang - could take 5 mins, 
could take an hour, but down it goes.

ive spent hours trawling through my computer innards (mac) and 
so far have narrowed it down to the audio interface asio which i 
use...made by.....yep, emagic! when i use mac av to playback 
and tweak everything's fine. it seems to be an incompatibility 
between the emi2/6 asio and the uvi engine which stylus uses. i 
downloaded some freebie demo's called plugsounds (very 
interesting, worth checking - plugsounds.com - mac only i think) 
which are also based on the uvi engine and the freezes happen 
with them also. both stylus and plugsounds claim complete 
compatibility with logic and in the case of stylus that's a definite, 
eric persing himself uses logic on a mac.

so...stylus still sounds wonderful, and will sound a lot more 
wonderful when i can tweak it!

the above is obviously my own rough guess at whats happening, 
given that ive had so much hassle with the emi2/6 it doesnt 
surprise me that it's looking the likeliest culprit...

i'll investigate some more but i'm running out of ideas now.

anyone have any other clues?

no obvious email address on the emagic site, even though im 
registered at infoweb i cant get into it, and the distributer here in 
the uk hasnt put an email address on their web site 
either......customer support? zero out of ten.
