I just did a mix where I needed a sort of honky tonk like piano sound. After
trying many different patches I settled on the Emagic Stereo Grand with some
Fat EQ boosted in the upper mids around 3k, and a bit of a boost around 250k
so it didn't sound too thin; both set to a wide band. Of course I was just
looking for a taste of that honky tonk type sound in the mix, not a full on
honky tonk piano. You could also try playing with the fine tune parameter to
give it that slightly out of tune feel to it if you want.
