Only Wave and AIFF on PC, no other formats - but of course that was what the
files on the CD were...

Oh yes, it does work - but, if I want to use the samples for anything else
but their original patches I have to add a file extension. In that case the
EXS won't find them anymore and reloading them manually is impossible as
your zones will be messed up (so much about being smart enough...).
So in the end, as soon as I want to use them for anything else, I have to
duplicate them. OK, I usually don't use them at all (not for the relatively
uninteresting original patches nor for anything else), but they all
should've had a proper file extension in the first place.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
