You use a special hard rubber ended mallet in one hand and a regular one in the other. You strike the note regularly with the regular mallet and hold down the sustain pedal. You then press down hard on the note with the rubber mallet near the bottom of the bar where the string runs through the note. And while the note is sustaining you move the rubbert mallet slowly up the length of the note to create the bent effect. It works better lower on the instrument because then notes ar physically larger and you have more distance to move the pressed in mallet up. In regular playing situations of course you can do it with two of the same regular mallets.
