good question ...
well i think the EXS24 is a Fantastic tool for read samples, and do the most
basic fonction as samples assign... a filter and play souns from AKAI
Disc... ok...can it be compare to a hardware,...hummm in a certain sense
yes, but some Hardwares samplers gots specials features as autoSampling
(Yamaha) , a kind of Recycle fonction (Yamaha), an hardware can be more
usefull on stage too...
it really depends u'r need !??? do u want to create sounds like a
soundDesigner, do u compose, do u orchestrat, are u a professionnal who want
to use a special Sound librairy ? the EXS24 can be very usefull and it is
very cheap ($) for what it can do, but u cannot do everything with it...
i own myself 7/ Roland S760 and 4/ S1000 AKAI ....i bought the exs :o) i
turn on only 1 AKAI sometimes, but i use those S760 ...
for many reasons: resampling, volume on the Bender,Sound Librairy,
Cut&Splice fonctions etc...(a lot features that the EXS doesn't do)...one
day maybe !
It's true that i bought those Samplers few years ago ! would i have bought
those Samplers today.....hummmm maybe 1 or 2 "S760" that's all !
