To clear some things up :
I'm using Logic 4.8.2 (of course)
The Fastlane works fine when plugged directly into the G4.
MBox DOES work with Logic - you need to spend $40 on a third party driver from a company called Propagamma (www.usb-audio)
Their tech support is excellent - they made sure it worked with my system. If you're running 5.0, the setup is really easy. If anybody wants to try it, I have detailed intructions on how to make it work that someone typed out for me. Let me know.
As far as my Fastlane problem - MOTU tech support said that it was most likely the fact that my USB hub is not powered.
I'll let you guys know how it works out.

1/ You using OMS? AFAIK the only USB MIDI interfaces that work with
Logic without OMS are Emagic's interfaces.
2/ I didn't know the MBox worked with Logic at all - I thought it only
worked with Protools...? (Please tell me it DOES work!)
3/ Logic 4.9.2??
