EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

I don't understand you folks... Old samplers don't sound "better" to me. In
fact, with the power of VST compression and all, my drums have never sounded
better. Make sure you are employing good use of high gain on all your input
levels. Normalize all your samples. Set all your EXS kits to the maximum
output level. In general, just use good engineering methods. My drums sound
"punchier" and "stronger" than they every have. I don't say this with any
lack of authority either. I'm a well-seasoned studio engineer with both
digital and analog (2-inch) studio engineering experience. Sell the AKAI,
man! I would even go as far as to say, the samples I just moved from my old
sampler sound better on the EXS. You sound like one of those analog purests
;)

PS: Don't take me too seriously on this, but it is my honest opinion that
hardware samplers do not necessarily sound better.
