I had the same problem so I phoned my supplier and they sent me a new EXS sample CD (volume 3) which has all the samples and instruments on it as well as the bonus samples/instruments.

  I just had the same  experience myself...   I called Logic's help line and = 
  they 
  claimed they were the same samples as those in the newer version, whatever = 

  that means.   All I know is I don't have the .exs instruments for'em...  Di= 
  d 
  anyone get to the bottom of this?
