EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

Using the Environment (transformer?) or any other part of Logic, is there 
any way to split a series of notes by length?

I often use two instances of EXS with samples of the same instrument 
playing short and long notes, and would love to be able to take a melodic 
line I inputed using a piano patch, and have Logic automatically assign the 
longer notes to EXS-sustain and the shorter ones to EXS-portamento, for eg.

If it's not possible, this would be a very useful addition to the 
split/demix function set...
