You need to enable sample Vistual Sample Memory -- Emagic's name for hard-disk
streaming. Your PC is trying to load about a gig of samples into RAM -- most of
it is probably going into virtual memory -- sitting in a swap file on your
hard-drive since in all probability you don't have a gig and a half of RAM.

To enable VSM you need to have installed the dll file (I think the Logic 5
installers do this automatically) and then you go into options menu on the
front panel of the EXS24 and down the bottom is Virtual Memory. That is where
you activate VSM -- once activated it operates for all EXS 24 instances in all
songs until you de-activate it by unchecking the box. While it is activated EXS
24 will use less RAM but more hard-disk bandwidth and if you are storing your
samples in RAM in 32 bit mode to conserve CPU without streaming you will notice
an increase in CPU consumption when you switch on VSM.
