Thoughts from the mind of hashev, 11/25/02: >so...whats up with that..?:) >(oh, and....hi, im new to this group...:) > >are there any EXS files for the samples yet? > >i have a lot of time, and im on broadband, so i can also help. CDs of the full set of samples are being sent around the world as we speak -- in a kind of chain-mail fashion. Each of the participants picks an instrument to "exs', and when everyone is done, we'll put all exs-files in an archive and upload it somewhere. If you want to participate: great. Send your snail mail address to Anders <anders@...>, and take a look here: http://www.revolvermusic.no/U_of_Iowa_project.htm That's the list of participants... Currently I'm working on the piano, which proves to be a tough cookie... Over 250 samples, most badly recorded... >BTW, i have noticed that files from the Iowa u. contain more than 1 >note... why is that? do i need to 'chop' the samples before EXS'ing >them? That's a problem indeed. If you make an exs instrument for samples you chopped up yourself, how would anyone else be able to recreate the same instrument? So I suppose the best way to go about this, is to assign the full sample to various keys or zones, and set different start and end points for each zone -- i.e. use the full sample as it's available. Individual users could always decide to cut up and trim their copy and re-assign the cut-up samples to the proper zones. -- Hendrik Jan Veenstra <h@...> Omega Art: http://www.ision.nl/users/h/index.html
