Assigning 2 controllers to a group?

Is it possible to assign 2 conrollers to one group?
If I want mod-wheel 0-31 to activate the group
+ sustain pedal - do I have to use 2 groups?

PS. Is it possible to have different velocity curves on different 
groups/samples?
