Just FYI, we dropped the crediting requirement when we started doing virtual instruments.....obviously, it would be impractical, because the instruments are so much more powerful for creating your own original stuff. So that doesn't apply to the VIs. Little background info about that too. The reason we starting asking for it, was when major groups like enigma started using our samples from Heart of Africa and other discs for the LEAD vocals on their records....and there was not a single mention on the source of the samples! We're a big believer in giving credit where credit is due, and sample crediting is a standard thing on records these days. We never hassled anyone about it either, we just wanted to make sure that the artists work that we sampled was recognized....so when someone like Sting extensively uses our samples on a major record, it's really nice to get a credit for our work.....it's not so much to ask....especially for loops and phrases. But we realized that the VIs are totally different in their application, with much more manipulation that's possible, and crediting can get tricky...but we still really appreciate it when people take the time to credit their sources. -EP from Spectrasonics --- In exs-users@yahoogroups.com, <HELP@M...> wrote: > I find that I quite agree with this.
