EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

So I have read almost this entire thread and I just have to throw in
my two cents.

I think the argument that YT has put forth here saying that we can go
and use their samples in their software but in no other way is ABSURD!

I simply cannot believe that any judge or lawyer - German or American
would ever say that because i re-used free AIFs in another form, I am
violating the lisence agreement attached to a free GIFT?!?  That is
nothing less than absurd.

Maybe the business people involved in the distribution of these demos
are  not understanding the landscape on which they are treading.  We
are ARTISTS.  How many people on this list even made a LIVING writing
their own music?  I'm not talking about recording commercials to pay
the rent.  I'm talking about sitting down with a blank canvas in Logic
and walking away with an original owrk.  I mean they're handing out
paint colors to painters for free (thank you by the way - the samples
are great I look forward to using them right along with all my other
freely downloaded samples) and then trying to conrol how and when they
paint with those colors.  I'm not reselling the colors pretending that
they're mine.  I'm PAINTING WITH THEM.  The corporate culture in the
arts is going to destroy all creativity I swear they will if we let them.

The arrogance here is just amazing.  I urge everyone on this list to
participate in collective disobedience.  I for one am RHYMIN AND
STEALIN and don't forget it.  There aren't enough lawyers in the world
to sue us all.  I would NEVER put an add for a sample company on one
of my records and I can't believe anyone else would.

Man this is upsetting.  I feel like it's almost a civil rights
question.  Yellow Tools can kindly keep their little eyes out of my
hard drive thank you very much.  What I do with their free gift is up
to me and noone else.

Period.
