Or does OS-X have a >built-in translator? It's actually HFS, the "Mac" disk system, that uses the fork system. MacOS is just adapted to take advantage of it. (the "translator") OSX adapts itself to it also, so no, OSX does "use" a two-fork system. Otherwise upward compatibility would be impossible.
