AO with EXS

AO with EXS

2001-04-10 by badasmufuka@yahoo.ca

I have contacted both BestService and Emagic, and my local dealer,
searched various discussion groups, and just can't get a clear answer.

PLEASE - Is there anybody out there that uses Logic Audio Platinum
and EXS most current versions with Peter Seidlaczek's Advanced
Orchestra full AKAI CDROMs?

Is there a conversion problem?
If so, what are they exactly?
How can they be fixed, and how much time spent?
Are there any other quality orchestra libraries that are actually
fully compatible with EXS?
(I asked Ilio about Kirk Hunter's Virtuoso Strings and they suggested
that I get Gigasampler)

Whoever can help me is a superstar and my new idol.

I've been using AO and AO Upgrade for about a month now. I converted using
a 4.7 beta. I've had no problems with conversion, but of course, the big
thing is organization. I have mine set up where I organize instrument
families in separate folders instead of by partitions. The AO upgrade is a
tad difficult because some of the instruments use samples from the normal
library, and sometimes the partition lists on the CD insert aren't that
clear. Especially with some of the strings on the upgrade... You have to
do trial and error trying to figure out what instruments do what. I tried
Translator on Virtual PC, but it was easier just converting in LAM. Yes, it
might be easier to go to Gigasampler, but I prefer the integration of having
everything in Logic. It's been very successful.

Hanging and detuned notes

2001-04-10 by res0934j

Is anybody noticing randomly detuned and hanging notes while playing many
notes using the sustain pedal?
Like for eksample playing the same big chord over and over while holding
down the sustain pedal throughout.

On my G4 I get very unmusical behavior when doing this.

Could this maybe have something to do with the unstabil sample playback
times mentioned elsewhere on this site?

Hi you,
I used the EXS in Logic Audio Platinum and I also used Peter Siedlaczeks
Advanced Orchestra.....all in the current version, wich means 4.7. I have
done a complete Film Score up to 24 EXS Instruments and in my oppinion there
is NO! conversion problem with that library......all worked very well
together.
So what is your conversion problem exactly?

Hi,
I've been using AO and the upgrade for several months and for the most part
the conversions work fine. For some reason the converter doesn't see the
Harp single note programs in partition F and H of the upgrade. It see's the
volume...anyway the short story is I can't convert those programs. Haven't
had any other problems though.

What kind of problems are you having?

FWIW, Logic 4.7 solved the major importing problems we had with Virtuoso
Strings on EXS. No worries!
