Hi,

Is there a limit to the amount of samples the EXS sample folders can 
take,
because whilst i was loading in my collection of AKAI cd's last night 
the
drop down menu for my EXS doesn't appear anymore, this means i can't 
really
change patches (although the + - buttons still work which is odd) Any 
idea
how to get this back, if its a known problem or not, clicking on the 
patch
name now just doesn't do anything.

I thought i might add i only have about 10 main catergarys on the 
first drop
down menu, because my samples are all organised under sub 
folders...so its
not like i have a hundred folders drop down when you first click on 
it.

Danny,

I have had this problem to.

Some people say there is a limit to the number of esx instruments (programs) you can 
have.  (Around 20000)  I have found removing sub folders helps.

Its not the samples that has the limit its the instruments.

Some Akai CD roms put each instrument in their own folder if you rearrange your 
instruments into less folders and remove any redundent instruments (IE lower voice 
or lower samlerate versions that you won't be needing) things will come right.
