what is .hip?

again, thanks to all for helping solve my giga to exs problem.
the steinway grand sounds really nice.
just wondering, along with the .gig file stuffit revealed a .hip file.
que es esto?
i didn't put the .hip file into the exs and the steinway seems to be 
fine.

Just don't put them in the same folder as your .art files.

OK, just because somebody else is going to say this, I might as well...

The .hip file scans the samples and the .gig file and makes some custom 
modifications to the sounds (this is a proprietary algorithm) that make it 
more applicable to boat gigs, lounge sessions, and most any pop song. Even 
the classical oriented pianos. Thus, the ".hip" extension.
