By MW I assume that you are talking about modulation crossfade.
Some Giga programs that use both velocity switch and modulation
crossfades at the same time cannot be correctly converted to my
knowledge. This is because the crossfade amount is applied to
the modulation and to the velocity switch at the same time.
Therefore you cannot have a modulation crossfade (smooth)
and a velocity switch (hard) at the same time. Unless I'm missing
something here but I already spent quite some time on this problem.

This is required to be compatible with the MacOS9 file system.

This is correct, EXS24 does not support this yet.
This is in my opinion the most important feature that needs to be added to
EXS24. We need to be able to use the MW to crossfade between groups.
An example of it's use would be to have two string legato bowing groups, one
vibrato and one non-vibrato, each with 4 velocity layers between 0 and 127
(e.g. 0-40, 41-80, 81-110, 110-127). The MW could then be used to crossfade
between Vibrato and non-vibrato.
