annoying delay of sound

annoying delay of sound

2003-11-13 by Remco Muntz

I'm experiencing annoying delays on some tracks with the EXS (probably
the softsynths have this too, not sure). It works like this. I have,
let's say, a string part. When the part ends the last note is repeated
a little later. It happens quite often, although not always (at
random). There's no logic in the tracks that have this. Usually one or
two tracks per song, most of the songs don't have this. It doens't help
to freeze or unfreeze (ofcourse frozen the at random is gone, it's
there everytime you play it). It's annoying because I can't make a
decent mix like this. It's always at random if the mix is ok. Not to
mention sounds that do this, but can't be heard very clearly (and you
notice it later).
Does Emagic know about this problem? What can I do about it?

I've never had this happen, but I have had an audio piece with a long
reverb play again. It was the last thing at the end of the song, with
some time after that to give the reverb's tail time to die. Are your
strings at the end of the song, or in the middle?

I've had them on the end and on other places in the songs. So, I guess
placement is not an issue.
