Sorry for being OT, but I should know something right now about the
Akai Z4/8 sampler.

The Akai S5000-6000 can load the *.akp format, with 16 bit wav
samples.

The z4/8 can read these akp files. Is the *.akp the native format
for the Z4/8 as well?

Is it possible to load any *.akp files into the the z4/z8 6k
samplers with ** 24 bit ** wav files instead of the 16bit? Does it
work in reality?

Thanks,
Balazs

Yes to all the above. One of the Z's special features is that is supports
24-bit files. And .akp was inaugurated by the Akai S-5000, which the
Z-Series is just an improved version of.

Go to www.midicase.com/akai to sing up for (at least to my knowledge) the
main Akai mailing list.
