EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

Hi All
I have a serious problem.
I have over 35000 exs instrument files.When they are all in Logic folder and load an 
instruments to exs24 nothing happens.All these instruments are in folders and sub folders 
categorized.So it is not 
a huge 35000 file in 1 folder.When I put out some amount of files like 3-4 cd amount of 
instruments out of the folder exs24 loads fine again.
Is there a limit to the exs files that one can have in folder?
Also sometimes a patch name gets stuck on screen.When I select another patch the sound 
changes but the name remain same. These probs happened with my g4
now i am using a g5 and made a clean setup, I reorginized my library with exs manager 
and same problems again.

Yes.  I don't recall the exact number, but there is indeed an upper 
limit to the  amount of .exs-files the EXS can handle, and it seems 
you've run into that limit.  Very annoying and unprofessional 
limitation imo.  The only way out is to move some exs files you don't 
need that often to another folder.

EXSManager Pro (www.Redmatica.com) has a way of consolidating VSL 
files into one, so EXS sees it as one file and you don't reach the # 
open files limit. I'm not sure if it would work with other libraries.

Actually ExsManager solves the problem for number of *samples* used, 
but not for the total number of instruments inside the exs folder.
We have to wait for Emagic to solve that one...

Samplemerge (the process you referred to) works for any Exs library 
that uses wav or aiff sample format...

And actually, I think I may have run into that limit too.
