Sonic Implants Strings Problem

Sonic Implants Strings Problem

2004-03-17 by Ned Bouhalassa

Hello group,

I'm converting my Sonic Implants Symphonic Strings MINI (Giga only) for
EXS and I've had trouble when using CDXtract. Has anyone tried this
successfully? I'm not using the EXS' built-in Giga conversion because
it won't accept many of the long names that are used in SISS (sigh...).

Ned

I can't help you yet, but in fact I just ordered SISS Mini and will try
converting it with Translator as soon as it arrives (maybe a week??). What
is the problem you're having with CDXtract?

Hi Don,

The converted EXS instruments have no samples attached to them, so they
don't make any sound.

Hi Ned:
I\ufffdm using SISS Mini and complete editions and transfered with EXs24 without problems. (Im using OSX) I remember I put my giga HD a nd open in OSX then I copied all my drive to a new mac formatted drive. I transfer all my Giga files to EXS24 this way. I have used CDxtract but I preffer to transfer vis EXS 24 because cdxtract have problems transfering release samples.

Elith,

Did you have to edit the names of many of the giga files? I found that
EXS would not recognize long names like 'Basses Tremolo Sul Ponticello
MINI.gig'.

Ciao,

Ned

My problem is solved! Thanks to a quick reply from Bernard at CDXtract,
I downloaded the latest version of the program (4.1.5 - I was using
4.1.0) and it converted the MINI SISS programs perfectly.

Nothing like excellent service to keep users happy!

Sonic Implants Strings Mini on Mac?

2004-03-23 by Don Newmeyer

Just received my copy of SISS Mini. But I've encountered a big problem. I
was expecting to find .gig files that I could convert with Translator or the
EXS on my Mac. But instead each CD only has a single .exe file, which is
apparently not a self-extracting zip file, but rather a windoze program. Do
I have to find a PC to extract the files?

Maybe, try using MacRAR to view it. It may be a self-executing RAR file,
which you can view with MacRAR and extract the contents.

But if it's an actual installer, no. I know the full on SISS uses PC
installers.

Contact the SISSies at Sonic Networks (I've been waiting FOREVER to say
that =)) and ask them what can be done.

Hi Dan,

Probably, I had this problem with the XSamples GIGA library (the .exe
contained samples)
