Erasing Samples

Erasing Samples

2004-03-30 by Ned Bouhalassa

Group,

Please tell me that when one deletes an EXS instrument, there _is_ a
way to erase the samples associated with it, at the same time, right?
If so, please explain...

Thanks!

Ned

[EXS] GOS Legato and EXS

2004-03-30 by Sean McCoy

I know there are a few of you out there using Garritan strings in EXS, and
I'm wondering if anyone has figured out how to apply the legato functions
to recorded sequences. With the Maestro Tools environment activated, the
sustain pedal legato works great for live playing, but the sustain pedal
messages get sucked up somewhere and don't make it into the recorded
sequences. In looking at the incredibly complicated Maestro Tools
environment, it does appear that the cables terminate at the Sequencer
Input object, but the pedal messages just don't get through, while notes
and other controller messages get through fine. Manually inserting them
doesn't work either, as it seems the patches are looking for a message
earlier in the signal flow. Any ideas?

Do yourself a favor and buy EXS manager... I missed the group buy and
bought it after that, but just running it the first time and not
having the EXS take ages to load an instrument was worth the 80 bucks.

And with that you can move out the instruments you would like to
erase and the have the EXS manager separate the unused from the used
samples.

Very powerful, very convenient and very simple.

Cheers
Hans

Hans,

Thanks for the tip. I just bought it now, and it'll save lots of time,
I'm sure.

Try to turn off the MIDI filter ( somewhere ).
I guess that could be it...
