First of all, breathe in from your diaphragm. Breathe out, stomach in. Breathe in, stomach out. Relax. Find your neutral zone. Second, I'm nowhere near old enough to be called "Mr. Batzdorf." Third, if you say, "This is the best, hands down" when there are only two candidates, is the implication not obvious? It's also kinda rude, since Garth posts here all the time. So I asked for an explanation. It may well be that Nicolas is perfectly right - in which case Garth would probably be the first to admit it - but I think he needs to explain himself. By the way, while I find Garth to be very pleasant, interesting, and knowledgeable, it's not like I own stock in his company or anything. I probably would have asked for an explanation if Nicolas had said the same thing about Translator Pro - although I've never met the CDXtract people, so I wouldn't have had a fact to post about. -- Nick Batzdorf 818/905-9101, cell 590-9101, fax 905-5434

Nick-Some days being better than others,I would beg your pardon for my human weakness and less than positive personal tone towards you.
I concur strongly that Nicolas should have been more forthcoming(forthcoming at all) about his resoning. His post was somewhat less than useful for those of us sampler users who have to deal with the ongoing issue of sound compatability, including the poor guy who started this thread and hasn't gotten any real answer to his question, except one post about Emu's filters being an issue in translating those sounds.I have used both programs with varying degrees of success, and my advice when this topic comes up has usually been try both and use what works for you,as the whole business is somewhat hit or miss.I will not endorse, denounce or critique either program at this time.
I do admit that I am fond of Garth as I know him from his helpful and positive posts. And whenever anyone has had an issue with Translator,he is always there to help. For that reason,I certainly wouldn't want to see him flamed,or his product maligned ad hominem, without any specific complaint.
Just as you are not a stockholder in Chicken Systems,I don't know Nicolas from Adam, and am not here as his champion. My issue with your post was your assumption that he was being defamitory to Garth, when I thought he had in fact said nothing at all, literally. The post simply contained no information whatever except that he likes CD Xtract, which is his prerogative, but insufficient for the purpose of edifying dialogue. And I am sorry that I came at you too strong in making that very narrow point.
I think it best at this point to let Nicolas say what he meant if he wants,Garth to answer any issues raised if he has to,and the rest of list to offer its best advice on the actual topic at hand.
