Sorry for being OT, but you guys are a great resource. I will be adding an SPL Loudness Maximizer to my mastering suite, but it's AES and SPDIF only, so I need to convert a stereo analog signal input to a digital output. Any ideas on a rack mount unit that does this? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Hi Mark, Sorry for being OT, but you guys are a great resource. Any ideas on a rack mount unit that does this? I don't think that there are too many choices if you're looking for straight-ahead AD or DA converters. How much do you want to spend? Apogee has their Rosetta series which can do 24/96 kHz conversions. Then there is Weiss which are excellent but mucho $$$$$. All of these are in a higher price range (> $1,000). For under $1,000, Lucid makes an AD box which is supposed to be okay. There are also a few boxes capable of 8 channels or 8-channel boxes with built-in preamps and whatnot. I've had really good results with a Symetrix 602. It wasn't all that expensive and it's been very solid for years. It converts A/D D/A AES or spidf. It also has a lot of built in processing (if that matters). Hope this helps. -The Other Dan In a message dated 5/5/01 12:24:52 PM, fvicente@... writes: << Hi Mark, Sorry for being OT, but you guys are a great resource.
