Recording to RAM?

Recording to RAM?

2001-05-22 by roman pirie

As hardware samplers will know, the recording of samples is made to RAM and
only when chosen to be saved are they written to disk. AFAIK the way I've
been using the EXS is recording in Logic (to disk) then saving edited
samples to EXS folders for use. Then you have to delete the file from disk.
I geuss this isn't a major hassle but I wondered if there is a way to record
to RAM and only write/save to disk the edited desired samples.
Peace.

I don't know why you want to do this "unless your drive your too slow", if
you are on the MAC you can create a RAM disk and use it as your logic
destination.

Take care

OPPPS, my apologies for the fast typo, I meant "unless your drive is too
slow"

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
