EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

As the subject says...whenever I start LogicPro, the startup gets hung up on "loading 
EXS24 instruments".  Busy clock keeps spinning, but the startup is stalled there.

When I do a force quit, I get an error message:  something about 'RewireDLL VERIFY 
error'.  Sometimes a restart fixes the problem.  Other times not.

G4 450DP/1.5Gb RAM/OS 9.2.2/LogicPro 6.4.2.    I have about 50 Gigs of samples/
sampler instruments on an external FW drive and the alias of 'Sampler Instruments' is 
in the Logic Application folder on the internal drive.

Any ideas?
