How many EXS instruments do you have?

How many EXS instruments do you have?

2004-08-27 by rcrofty2k

I use EXSManager Pro by Redmatica. I've run into a problem if I try to keep more than
(approximately) 30,000 to 32,000 instruments in my EXS instruments folder. I realize
that is an insane number but when I try this, nothing will load in the EXS. I cut it back
to about 27,000+ and things load and work fine now. Is anyone aware of a maximum
number of instruments for EXS? And out of curiosity, how many instruments do you
keep in your instrument folder?

There could be a limit of the operating system. These numbers sound
somehow familiary to me... Max files and/or max nested folders in a
hierarchical menu. Maybe EXS would not care but the popup is beyond its
capacity.

I'm a little late here (having been on vacation the last two weeks),
but there's a limit to the number of files Logic can have open. The
solution is to use EXSManager's SampleMerge routine to make one file
out of lots of them.
