Automap from specified note

Automap from specified note

2004-10-10 by Brio Taliaferro

Hi group

Just wondering if I can have the chromatic automapping begin from another
note than the default C1. Alternatively, can I move a bunch of
samples/keygroups up or down the keyboard at the same time?

Thanks
Brio

You can move selected samples with [shift] and the left/right arrows.
[command]-a works either so you can quickly move all samples at once.

If you import multiple zones they are selected when they come in and
you can instantly move them to another starting point or out of the way
if you have other samples here.

These are custom key-commands -- you probably assigned those ages
ago, but they won't work for most people.
What you have to do is: open the Key Commands window and go to the
EXS section. There you'll find commands named something like "shift
selected zones right/left (inc. root note)". Assign key commands to
those two. Then in the EXS instrument editor select all zones you
want to move and use the key command to shoft the whole bunch up or
down.

Is it? I can only remember that I spent many hours with moving zones by
adjusting the start/end parameters until I accdidently hit shift/arrow
keys. Now I checked that in key commands and found those assignments.
And more - for example shift-control-arrow to move the root also - I'm
sure I have never been there because I am still shifting the root in
the param box...

Anyway, probably the assignments are in some key command presets which
I changed about three times last month and zone moving worked
everytime. At least I know now how to move zone+root :)
