Editing a Drum Sampler Instrument's Pan

Editing a Drum Sampler Instrument's Pan

2004-10-14 by Ron Marinelli

I'm editing Drum Sampler Instrument and I wanted to change the pan for several samples,
ie: hi hat, shaker, tamborine, etc. I want to pan them off center. I tried doing it in the
Zone without assigning them to a Group, and then I assigned them to a Group and
changed the Group Pan, but neither worked. They still come up in the center. I saved the
Instrument and reloaded it into the EXS, but nothing changed.

What am I missing?

Thanks.

Ron, sometimes I instantiate EXS on a mono track as a mono instrument by
mistake.
Any chance you did this too?

Nope.

I actually instatiated it as a multi-instrument and spent a bunch of time splitting off the
kick, snare, hi hat, etc to different Aux channels with plugins, only to realize that I forgot
there is no delay compensation on Aux channels, so I had to scrap that idea for now.

Should I be changing the pan at the individual Zone level or Group level?

Also, sometimes in the Matrix Editor, when I click on a MIDI note, no sound is played.
Other times it is. What's going on?

Thanks.
