Correct, it depends on the audio hardware (and its drivers).

The RME Hammerfall goes down to 1.5ms. One comment though: I would NEVER
take a system to a gig with EXS24... don't know, but there are soooo
many things that could go wrong! A crash happens at the least expected
moments and rebooting can take a while.
So, you have a concert pianist? Give him a real acoustic concert grand
or so. :-)

I agree with these comments. As much as I LOVE the EXS24, I would never 
depend on a computer system at a live gig. I would go with a 
dedicated-to-piano-sound hardware module for that kind of thing.

On the other hand, there *are* dedicated electronic bands, like German
"Tangerine Dream", who are using PCs and sequencers during their whole 
performance (it\ufffds an impressive view on the stage, although they use
Cubase ;-)
