Upright Piano Samples

2004-11-03 by Eli Krantzberg

Fellow EXS-ers; I am posting this for a friend of mine who is on the
LUG but not the EXS list (not yet anyway). I'll forward any replies to
her. Thanks...... Eli

Hello,
Does anyone know of a piano sample for GIGA or AKAI or EXS that is of
an upright piano? Preferably an old slightly out of tune, loose
hammer type of piano? I'm scoring a scene that takes place in an old
bordello and I'd like to put in some honky tonk piano.
Thanks!

This one has a tinny upright kind of sound.

Don't be fooled by the Grand Piano pictured on the page, doesn't sound like
that.

Hello Judith,

Perhaps you could use a stock EXS Grand Piano instrument
and use the Logic Pitch Shifter plug-in to create the
out of tune effect you're looking for. Hope this helps.

This is not particularly out of tune but being heavily multisampled it should be quite easy to accomplish. I bought this to get a similar effect and I was pleasently surprised. Especially the 1908 Clinton has that saloon/bordello sound.

A change to the Donnie Christian group buy: 50% off any of his libraries
if you contact him by midnight Friday. Pretty darn good deal.
