HOLLOW SUN CDS NOW ON SALE !!!!

HOLLOW SUN CDS NOW ON SALE !!!!

2005-01-17 by Hollow Sun

Hi!

Sorry for the blatant advertising but....

The first of the Hollow Sun CDs are now on sale and available to buy
on-line.

These CD-ROMs support most of the popular software samplers including, of
course, EXS24 thanks to the sterling work done by Sascha Frank of this
parish.

Three CDs are now available - the J/XV, M/01 and FS1r Collections.

As a special introductory offer, the Hollow Sun Vintage Collection Volume 1
(which contains the on-line collection up to August, 2004), will be bundled
free with any of the other Hollow Sun CDs that you buy.

All the CDs sell for $55 and offer tremendous value for money containing not
only a wide range of seamlessly looped and detailed multi-samples but also
Chicken Systems' Multi-Format Installer which allows you to use these
sounds in most of the popular samplers.

Thanks for your time!

Best regards,

Steve

Hi,

Just wanted to mention that this is a highly recommendable sound collection.
You folks may allready know the freely available stuff from Hollowsun -
these patches are taking things quite a bit to some other level,
concentrating on the best sounds of certain hardware synths.
And no, I'm not saying so because I adjusted quite some of the EXS patches
but because these will instantly become part of my daily arsenal.
There\ufffds pretty much all sorts of things - "basic" (but really great
sounding) patches and some that are offering quite some special qualities,
representing the best sounds of their hardware counterparts just fine (from
what I can tell at least).
In addition, it's just a lot of fun to tweak them using the EXS's
synthesizing features.

Regards,
Sascha

Well, Sascha is too modist to say he did an excellent job programming those EXS instruments for those libraries. Also, IMNSHO the samples are of the same highest quality as those found in Ilio, Spectrasonics or Best Service libraries (this said by a HW sampler enthusiast with over 8 years of experience). Highly recommended.

Best,

Andy

Well, that's the gentle push I needed. The demos sound great; and I
like Steve's overall general approach and philosophy. I just ordered
the FS1R collection. ...... Can't wait!!

Hi people,

Well.... Sascha, Andy... thank you for the various kind comments. Shucks!

I am naturally very pleased that the pair of you like the sounds, that they
actually mean something to you and that this wasn't just a 'tweak job' done
under duress! For my part, I am very happy with the sounds, not just the
seamlessly looped 'raw' samples but the quality of programming that Sascha
has brought to the project to elevate the sounds. Andy's contribution as 'QC
manager' can't be underestimated either - if his discerning ear likes them
(and he's a fussy bugger, believe me ;-), I know that we're onto something!
And given these guys' standing in this community, I know they're not going
to put their name or endorsements to anything shabby or sub-standard!

I truly believe that the CDs offer good value for money to provide a wide
range of affordable sounds that are applicable to almost any musical genre
(which was the intention). I believe you can buy with confidence (but... I
dunno... maybe I am just a bit biased ;-)

Eli... received your order (thanks!) and thanks for your kind comments too.
I am sure you won't be disappointed with your purchase (and thanks for
letting me use that drumkit of yours on my site - it's gone down an absolute
storm with Akai users there... it is rather fabulous tho so no wonder :-)

If anyone here is going to NAMM, you can see/hear the Hollow Sun CDs at
Chicken Systems' booth - Hall A, Booth 6921 - as well as meet Garth who has
also been highly instrumental in bringing this project to completion with
his Multi-Format Installer without which, these sounds would pretty much be
unavailable to the EXS community without a lot of faffing about and
converting and programming, etc..

Best regards,

Steve

You're welcome. And, as I never got to downloading the whole thing
originally, I am really looking forward to the added bonus of getting
all the freeware sounds from the Hollow Sun site. Just a reminder to
everyone, this is a sweet little "bonus" that comes with these already
extremely well priced sample CDs.

I did in fact download the whole thing, over
several months in sessions lasting hours on dialup,
beginning in the fall of '03. And for the sounds I got
from those samples, it was absolutely worth it. In
fact, I liked these sounds so much, I licensed them
for my own Reason and Wusikstation products from
Dangerous Bear Underground.

But, this was an expenditure of time and effort
clearly worth far more than the extremely fair if not
modest price of these discs, which didn't exist then,
but I wish had. And that's before the time and effort
spent on translation and programming. At $55 a pop,
you're actually making money on buying these things if
you cost out your time and labor. All that, and EXS
programming by Sascha, the man. I like my NNXT
programming for the Dangerous Bear ReFill, but the
sounds on the new discs are amazing.

It would behoove anyone who wants good synth
sounds to buy these discs. I personally plan on
collecting the whole set, which at the price they are,
and including samples not available on the website
free service, are an absolute bargain compared to the
time and effort I spent downloading in the first
place.

Hi,

Just quickly....

If you want to hear how some sounds will sound *IN AN EXS*, Sascha's knocked
up a little demo tune on his EXS that shows of some of the modulation
programming he's built into the sounds.

http://www.hollowsun.com/cds/m01_page.html

You'll see the demo listed. It's very simple but effective. Hope to bring
you some more.

Nice one Sascha!
